Tim Gow
From 1999, I worked for The Design Council, as a researcher and writer for the Millennium Projects initiative, then later for the Sharing Innovation website.
In May 2000, I started work for eToys, then the world’s leading online toy retailer, writing site copy, product descriptions and blurbs for the store.
Following the close of eToys’ toy box, in 2000 I joined Revolution, a new media and brand consultancy as their lead copywriter. Over two years, I wrote copy for Cable & Wireless, Jersey Telecom, Surcare, Sportingbet and Coutts private banking, including direct mail, brochures, press ads, websites, pitch work, brand expression and copy guidelines.
From 2002 to 2004, I wrote freelance, producing copy for BT, Creative Partnerships, Century Films, Alliance Coffee, The Post Office, British American Tobacco and Wave Telecom, working with a number of clients and agencies, including Agency, Thirdperson, Grey Interactive and Proximity.
In late September 2004, I joined Oyster (later to become Framfab, and now LBi London), where I wrote web copy for BT, Oxford Journals, Loot, Kodak, Sanex, Empire Stores, Tassimo and Barclays Bank, including numerous pitches.
From summer of 2006, I resumed freelance work, to work closely with the excellent Thirdperson agency, based in Clerkenwell. Jersey Telecom, Wave Telecom, Smith & Williamson, Creative Partnerships, The College of Law, Unilever, Gottabet and Nusa kitchen are among some of the clients I wrote for.
I have a first class BA (Hons) in English Literature and Film Studies from Ripon & York St John’s University College in York, and an MA with distinction in Cultural and Communication Studies from Lancaster University.
